To get coverage, you must purchase the new item entirely with your Diners Club Card for yourself or as a gift. The original purchase does not have to be registered to receive this benefit. Most items you purchase entirely with your Diners Club Card are covered if damaged or stolen within 90 days from the date of purchase as indicated on your Diners Club Card receipt.
This coverage is secondary to any other applicable insurance. Coverage is limited to a maximum of $10,000 USD per claim and a total of $50,000 USD per cardmember account per 12-month period.
Extended Warranty doubles the original warranty period and duplicates the coverage of the original manufacturer’s (or U.S. store brand) warranty up to a maximum of 12 months on most items you purchase.
The maximum Extended Warranty benefit for repair or replacement shall not exceed the actual amount charged on your Diners Club Card or $10,000 USD, whichever is less. If either the original manufacturer’s (or U.S. store brand) warranty covers more than 60 months, Extended Warranty benefits will not apply.
